A solid and attractive piece of furniture
Makes a nice addition to my bedroom as a place to sit to put on socks and shoes toss clothing provide extra drawer space etc. It was well packed and had no problems with shipping condition (unlike other furniture I've bought or brought home recently -- some damaged straight from the store!). The box was a little bulkier than I envisioned however when I unpacked it I saw why. The drawers were already assembled and fastened to the seat piece which saved an hour or more assembly time. I was glad to see that as drawers can often be a pain. They're quite smooth in action ... easy to slide in and out. Overall it's strong seems to be of good quality and well-made. Only wish that there was more choice in cushion color and maybe an expresso finish. Other than that it's just what I needed and should last a good while.

Quality is very very poor
CRAFTSMAN SHOE STORAGE 1-DOOR 24-PAIR MACINTOSH OAK: An aesthetically beautiful cabinet but a PAIN to assemble. From the start everything and I mean everything was off. The dowels were too big and pre-drilled holes too small the directions were incomplete the panels were uneven so the cabinet didn't stand flush on the ground without a shim below the legs and frankly for 229.00 I wasn't too impressed with the quailty---nice veneers but cheap cheap backside panel (pressed wood) AND last but not least the size of the shoe slots are TOO SMALL. This cabinet is best suited for children's shoes only. It is only a 24 shoe cabinet if your placing children's shoes into them and/or one adult shoe per shoe slot. Not worth the cost or bother. I would have returned it but it would have cost me more money than the cabinet is worth and I actually had to drill the holes bigger to make the dowels fit. What a frustrating experience.

I received this item in January 2006. One of the bench panels was broken. The manufacturer failed to include an instruction manual so I couldn't figure out how to put it together.
Mid-March I still haven't received a replacement panel for the broken piece. They did mail an instruction sheet.
I am VERY disappointed in the customer service I have received from the seller.

Great Storage Bench for the End of Your BedRecieved the item broken and defective. The frame for the hatches was split and the rear panel didn't have the holes to attach it. I contacted Linon and after some phone tag got to speak to a real person. Told the gentleman what was broke and defective. He said they would replace the parts and ship them no charge. I had the replacement parts in two days. Great Customer Service. Other companies should follow their example. I would definitely buy another Linon product.

Great entryway bench and storage!This wood piece is very nice and made extremely well! I put it together myself in about 25 minutes. It's a solid beautiful piece that is sturdy and will last. I'm extremely happy with this especially for the price!

A bit small
I know the size is listed correctly and I measured the space before ordering but it sure is small!! Perfect for a tiny space just be sure that is exactly what you want. Mine is in the mud room next to my gigantic washer and dryer so it gets lost. It went together fine and it feels sturdy enough for dropping the groceries and my purse and putting on shoes. Wished I'd spent a little more for something with a bit more...presence.

Ok for the moneyMy purchase came quickly and wasn't damaged. It is about the cheapest storage bench I could find. So if you are looking for a long lasting piece for your front hall I don't think this is for you. The back of the bench is cardboard. However I pretty much figured this was what it was when we bought it. I just needed something a bit decorative in which to put my kids' shoes. If you have huge expectations you should probably look to spend more money. All in all it works.

Exactly as it appearsThere were no surprises with this bench. It was exactly as it appears in the picture and fit my needs to a T! The legs screw in easily and the bench fits beautifully under the window in my guest room.

A year old and has held up great
Surprised to hear the bad reviews so I thought I should add my 2 cents.
Bought one of these a year ago at Costco (no longer carry) and wished I had purchased two (We will be purchasing another very soon from Target this time)
PROS: Good sized (will hold large seat cushions) Light weight Sturdy (we sit on it all the time my 4yo stands on it) Did not fade nor warp in more than year.
CONS: Holds about 110lbs of stuff but wouldn't trust it to survive heavier. Weave patterns holds pollen (we live in Atlanta GA home of 1000ct days)
Should note one additional thing: Don't store bird seed in it; chipmunks will eat through back to get to it.
